Why it didn’t work out?

Our mind doesn’t deal with people…it deals with its perceptions of them.

………………

I knew he was in love with someone and would often talk about her. And when I met her, I could see why? She was drop-dead gorgeous…possibly one of the prettiest faces I have ever seen. But you know what? I somehow felt that it would not work out…

The reasons were deeper

Well! “Everyone who is good, isn’t automatically good for you”! She was always nice to him but ever since they had been together, he seemed more restless, hunched, insecure and distracted. Her presence would not bring out the best in him.

And she was nowhere to be blamed for it! Rather it was his own mind that, while positioning the perception of her personality in his psyche, had stumbled upon some deep-laying point of reference into the darker recesses of his past and had activated some related complexes or insecurities. So, now she had become more of a trigger to ‘an algorithm’ of a downward spiral in his mind.

And when that happens…you know it will not remain hunky-dory.

………………

As I always say…fulfillment in relationships is not a function of people’s impressions, but that of their impact on you.
