Pre-script: This post requires a lot of ‘reading between the lines’ and can very easily be misunderstood. So kindly read it when you think you are ready for it.
“The whole world is waiting for you to get weak, so that it can feed on it!” …were my words as the keynote speaker at an induction program.
……………………..
You get weak in your faith and it would sell to you superstition, astrology or doctrines! You get weak in your knees and it would sell to you indulgence, addictions or adultery! You get weak in your heart and it would sell to you poetry, stories and philosophies! You get weak in your self-image and it would sell to you protein powders, parlors or accessories! You get weak in your resolve and it would sell to you books, posters and courses! You get weak in your esteem and it would sell to you dreams, hopes or heroes…
You get weak in your own-ness and it would sell possessions, belongings or relationships.
Well! If you think I am a cynic or a moralist then you are wrong!!! I have always believed that it is important to be vulnerable if you want to feel and experience life. After all! What’s the fun in being strong all the time? Yet ‘you should get weak when you want to and not when others want you to’.
I don’t teach discipline to people…it’s all about awareness!
…………………..
I love a profoundly naughty scene from a movie! In it the girl asks the boy (who’s a teetotaler) to have a drink! He says “Maine agar pee li to tum mera faaydaa to nahin uthaaogi?”… Girl says “Nahin!!!” to which the boy sighs and murmurs…
… “To phir peene ka kyaa faaydaa” 🙂
