Never the same again

Sometimes, something happens, and you are never the same ‘you’ again.

Some experiences jolt you to the core. Not in the sense of making you shout like hell but in the sense of making you numb like shell. You are so taken aback by the suddenness and the force of it that you aren’t able to even register what has happened. It just leaves you stunned like a stone.

But as the tides recede, you begin to realize the enormity of what it has done to you. It changes something deep inside you. And that change is not incremental or reversible, it is actually eruptive and irrevocable. Yup, it changes something about you mentally, that too fundamentally.

And then you wonder why you were ‘what you were’ before it happened.
